Software now does more of the work companies get paid for. That changes what companies are worth, who buys them, and how they are financed.
Industrial companies moved goods, and information companies moved data. Now software does more of the work: the processed claim, the booked shipment, the monitored network, the invoiced order. Where a company moves goods or runs sites, software takes over the coordination: booking, dispatch, payments, and billing. The company still owns its customers, and all of it runs on power and credit.

Who is buying
Investors now buy companies where people still do most of the work, in medical billing, claims, IT, and contact centers, and the first have reached freight brokerage and parking. Some want companies that already run on software. Others buy them as they are and make the change themselves. Lenders fund the same companies against receivables, inventory, vehicles, and equipment. Matching a company to the right buyer or lender decides the price.
Power and the build-out
Data centers need power, cooling, and fiber, and the contractors who install them have more work than they can staff. Lenders are financing that build-out, and partners in our network work on it directly.
Compute and data
Computing capacity now has exchanges, price indexes, and loans against it. A company’s data can be valued and sold on its own, sometimes for more than the company would fetch on earnings.
Some companies already run this way. In most, people still do the work, and there are buyers for both.
